1) Make sure your pump is running at least 8-10 hours a day. As a general rule of thumb, your pump should run one hour for every 10 degrees of outdoor temperature. For example if its 90 degrees outside your pump should run for a minimum of 9 hours each day.
2) Run your pump during daylight hours, not at night.
3) Make sure your filters are cleaned.
4) Keep all plants and trees trimmed so they remain out of the water.
5) Keep your water level midway on the tile line. Low water level can cause the pump to run dry and burn it up. If it’s too high, the skimmers will not work properly. If you have an overflow drain and you overfill your pool then you will literally be dumping your water down the drain!
